TraceKnack 0.54

TraceKnack should now be a bit more bulletproof with respect to viewing source code. I say 'should' because I can't reproduce the bug that's been reported to me, so I've just been extra paranoid with error-checking...

TraceKnack 0.53

Another update to TraceKnack, this time fixing a small bug that a user, Baruch, found, and adding WSGI support — TK should, in theory, now work with any WSGI stack that keeps Python loaded in memory.

Patently Wrong

Two recent articles have put software patents back on my mind. The first is Paul Graham's slightly embarassing attempt to justify himself. Paul, I don't mind that there are patents in your name: it's something that happens largely outside of your control when you work for a big company. But trying to excuse it with "well, patents aren't that bad really... actually, they can be good!" is just... well, kinda painful, in the same way that The Office is.

Feedback abuse

So, the comments system. Obviously, I'm concerned about comment spam and other similar issues, and want to make sure the comment code isn't abused when it's put online. This goes double since the JavaScript intro was posted to Reddit's programming site — which apparently is where spammers get their list of sites-to-try-and-abuse from — as, shortly afterwards, we got a bunch of attempted exploits of our feedback/contact page.
